I just dropped my Crystal Very Prive's to Michael's Shoe Repair, my fiance's favorite cobbler (he's been going to this guy for years, and swears by him). There are so many cobbler's and shoe repair places to choose from within the 5 boroughs of New York City, so it's sometimes confusing to know exactly where to go. I just brought them in to have them re-soled with the plastic vibram sole, so that the red will always be red, and not faded or worn away. I have a few other pairs of Louboutin's with this done to the bottoms, but I have bought them like that, instead of taking them myself. I felt like I was giving a child up for adoption, or something else equally guilt provoking. Hopefully everything comes out ok. I mean, what kind of a cobbler messes up something so small as applying a vibram sole??? I thought this too, until I saw this video, which almost gave me nightmares: http://youtu.be/RgSG4t29TEI
Not only did this cobbler scratch and ruin a new pair of really expensive designer boots, but he (gulp) covered the CL stamp on the bottom!!!! I don't know which is worse... My shoes are an investment, and almost like a member of my family, so when I handed them over, I got a hot flash as this image flashed into my mind... Hopefully all ends well. I guess I'll find out Wednesday...
