My fiance, my daughter and I have evacuated, due to a MANDATORY evacuation for our town. I just hope that we have SOMETHING to come home to. We live ON the beach, so there is no apartment building in front of us,...it's just the ocean and my windows facing the water. Also, we live on a Peninsula, so if it floods, it's going to flood on 3 of the 4 sides. It's scary, and in the whole scheme of things, shoes should be the LEAST of my worries, but I hope that everyone's shipments make it safely, and I REALLY hope that the postal service doesn't deliver things tomorrow and just leave them at my door (since no one will be there). I also have about $2,100 worth of crystals that are "supposed" to arrive on Monday afternoon (if they aren't delivered early).
Luckily, I was able to ship out Jennifer's Crystal Madden's today, so by now, they should be out of the Hurricane zone (hopefully). My client, Ice, is in Taiwan, where there is also a typhoon, so I hope she will be alright, and able to return to L.A. Another client, Colleen, has sent me a pair to strass as well, which are in transit, plus I am awaiting a pair of Louboutin's from the UK, which are already in customs in the U.S. In the whole scheme of things, shoes seem very minuscule, especially when you start to talking about flooding and winds carrying debri that could break every window in your house, but I can't help but obsess about the small things.
UGH! I hate not knowing what is going to happen, and not having ANY control over what happens. Luckily, we are all safe, but as of now, we have everything to lose. I HOPE I have a home after this is all over with.... :(
